2CVGB has a new chair!

We are pleased to report that at the Committee Meeting held on 30th November Simon Saint was unanimously co-opted as Chair of 2cvGB until the 2015 AGM. Simon is well known to many members and has been driving A series and other Citroens for over 40 years.

The Deux Chevaux Club of Great Britain - affectionately known to all as '2CVGB' - is for owners and enthusiasts of the Citroën A-Series models: the 2CV, Dyane, Ami, Méhari, Bijou, Fourgonnette and Acadiane, as well as some of the 2CV's 'friends and relations' such as the Citroën H Van, Citroën LNA and kit-cars based on the 2CV chassis and running gear, such as the Lomax, Burton and Deauville. As the dust settles on the Classic Motor Show, traditionally the unofficial close to the historic vehicle ‘season’, clubs will be turning their thoughts to the coming year and will be scheduling events in their calendars... if they haven’t already done so!

The time is therefore ripe to ensure you have the dates for the annual FBHVC Drive It Day in your events diary. This is the day where historic vehicles of all sorts are rescued from their winter hibernation, thoroughly checked and cleaned, and taken out on the road. It’s a fun day and much enjoyed by the general public who have a real affection for these important parts of our motoring heritage.

2014 Budget - Historic Car Tax PDF Print Email

There's good news for classic car owners in the 2014 budget. From April 2014, the classic car exemption from VED will begin rolling from 40 years, with cars built before January 1974 eligible for a zero-rated tax disc. Then, from January 2015, the formerly fixed cut-off, will become a rolling one.
