Your volunteer committee members for 2013/14 are:

Chairman

Aidan Rumble [Derbyshire Firkin Flyers]: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
Aidan Rumble, Chairman I've had a passion for Citroens once the 70's, when my dad discovered the CX. A rebuilt Dyane for my 18th birthday started an unbroken run of A-series ownership that has lasted for 25 years... and counting. I've owned my current 2cv for 15 years now! 2cv's have become ingrained into the fabric of life at Rumble Towers, and have taken me all over Europe... from Norway to Greece for World Meetings and 2cv shenanigans. I hope that this year as Chair (the post could be yours in 12 months time!) proves to be an excellent adventure.

Secretary

Mark Dunn ('Bean') [Godiva Two Horse Riding School]: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
Mark Dunn, Secretary'Bean' (Mark) first became a member of 2CVGB back in 1993 (for 2 years) after buying his first car a Beige Dyane 6 for £95 at the age of 17. In 2004 it all started again with the purchase of a 1983 Beachcomber, adding to this a couple of years later an 87 Grey/Grey Charleston and Bamboo. Bean has now taken the plunge into the van pool and bought a 1971 AKS400 in October 2012 which he imported from France.

Membership Secretary

Andy Cartwright : This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
Andy Cartwright, Membership Secretary Andy has been a member of the Club since 1985, and his first ever 2CV meeting was actually the 1985 World Meeting in Cheltenham! Since then he has never been without one (or more) A-series Citroens, and has owned various models including Dyanes, 2CV6s, an Acadiane, a Mehari, a 1956 ripple bonnet AZ, and, his most recent purchase, a 1969 AK30 van. He also owned a couple of Traction Avants, but his last one, a 1951 Type 11B was sold (on Ebay!) to a Latvian – the car is now in the Riga motor museum.

Press & Public Relations Officer

Julian Kettleborough [Godiva Two Horse Riding School]: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
Julian Kettleborough, Press OfficerJulian is enthusiastic about (almost) everything, especially if it runs on two cylinders or tastes of chocolate. His passion for 2CVs started at the age of 6 and he’s been a member of 2CVGB since ’88. His travels have included numerous UK and overseas events, mostly in the Beachcomber he’s now owned for 23 years! He is responsible for all 2CVGB's PR and publicity.

Magazine Editor

Steve Quirke : This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
stevequirkesml I’m one of those second generation 2cvGB types. I was brought home from the hospital in 1977 in my parents’ blue, drum brake 2cv - a car that was replaced by an Ami 8 break that took us to the World Meeting in Cheltenham in 1985. The Ami was sold when my Dad got a company car, and I eventually learned to drive, passed a motorbike test and got into motorbikes - and thought that perhaps the 2cv gene might skip a generation. It doesn’t. A chance encounter with a £70 Dyane back in 2001 (I still have it - one day I’ll get it back on the road) has led me here. Editing a magazine, and the owner of more A-series Citroens than I know what to do with...

Registrar of Registers

Matthew Concannon ('Ami Matt') [Hertfordshire Hill Hoppers]: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
Matthew Concannon, Registrar of RegistersMatt has owned Citroën A series cars since 1992, learning to drive in a wreck of a '76 2CV, before discovering the Ami 8 by accident in 1997 after being run over by one at a camp. Seeing this as the future (due to concussion, probably) he has kept an Ami 8 on fleet since then, taking over the Ami Register in 1998. Matt has stayed true to the Ami even after being distracted by 2CVs, Dyanes, Ami Supers, Trabants, Wartburgs, mopeds, GS, CX, BX, and the mighty DS. Reduced to poverty after DS ownership, Matt  now drives a Citroën LNA as a penance, and represents the Registers on the committee in the role of Registrar of Registers. In this role he assists with dating and authentication for Club members' cars, and represents the Club to bodies such as SPOG, the DVLA and FBHVC.

Robert Hellawell, Club ShopRob joined 2CVGB in 1990 after the purchase of his first car – a very shiny 1982 Rouge de Castille 2CV6 Spécial. He says that he wished he’d joined the club beforehand as the first job that he had to do on this car was to replace the chassis! This was achieved with considerable help from members of his local group, The Aire Cooled Alley Cats, and he’s not looked back since. Robert is married to Dalvinder; they have both been involved with the Club Shop since 2007.

Some members may remember Vanessa for organising the 2011 National in Oxford, however, this time she’s back on the committee wearing a different hat. Owing to her current day job involving policy writing, and having taught children for many years in the past, she’s taken up the child protection role for 2CVGB.

After 5 years in the club i've had countless adventures and fun, so i hope to bring some fresh ideas and young blood to the 2cvGB committee.
